Establishing a strong brand for your event allows you to stand out from the crowd and foster loyalty among attendees. While event branding includes everything from your logo to how you write your social media posts, your on-site experience is crucial to creating a memorable brand.
After all, having a captive live audience gives you the once-in-a-lifetime chance to completely immerse people in your brand. But how do you go beyond slapping your logo on the walls of your venue to create a brand experience?
1. First impressions makes a huge difference.
A guest should get a feeling of your brand the moment they walk into your event. Consider significant points of entrance, such as the front door, the venue’s entryway, or even your registration booth, where the majority of customers will interact with your brand. These are the locations where you should put your money because they will garner the greatest attention.
2. Prioritize quality over quantity.
Don’t just slap your logo all over the place. Sure, you want your logo to be prominently displayed throughout your facility, but keep the overall picture in mind. It’s all about maintaining a clean, uniform appearance throughout your facility. You want to appear polished rather than overbearing. Consider subtle methods to include your brand’s appearance and feel at crucial touchpoints such as:
- Signage on the outside of the building or at the front gate
- Area for registration or check-in
- Within the facility, there is directional/wayfinding signage.
3. Creativity is key.
Consider how you may surprise and thrill your guests with your brand experience, in addition to traditional signs such as banners. Why not use floor decals instead of typical foam core signs on easels? Instead of printed posters, why not use on-screen motion graphics to attract your audience’s attention?
Here are some more suggestions to get you started:
- Include your event’s tagline on the coffee sleeves!
- Lights that are projected: Project your logo or brand color(s)
- Clings to a window or a column: Place them in unusual locations.
- Create a photo booth with a creative branded backdrop or frame to provide participants with a photo opportunity. (Is there a bonus? You’ll have a better likelihood of attendees spreading your information.
